| The greeks had one of the best armies in all of the ancient civilizations. If I were you I would want to know why they were the one of the best armies. Well now you will find out. The Greeks' strategy was very good; they were known for their weapons. The first weapon the greeks used is the hoplon (a greek shield with holes on the side to poke a sword or spear through). For armor, the Greeks used a bronze breast plate and a helmet with a T-shape cut in it. Greeks used bronze to make all of their weapons and armor because, at that time bronze was the easiest thing to maneuver. I know, right, mind blowing. For fighting, the Greeks used a Phalanx formation. A Phalanx formation is a bunch of solders with their shields next to each other with swords or spears poking through allowing them to attach their enemies while protecting themselves. Now that you know a bit about the Greeks' strategy it's time to learn about how the Persians fought. The Persians were vary different from the Greeks. Instead of having a lot of ground solders the Persians used archers. These archers would send a storm of arrows at their opponent before the other side could attack. Honestly, I think the Persians had a better strategy because they were able to kill their enemies before they got to them. Please fill out the survey with your opinion.
